Kathy is nearing 40 and has been feeling more and more neglected with every passing day. Her husband, Jon, seems to always be busy and traveling for work, while rarely giving attention to her. Jon has yet another trip to go on and Kathy notices a new car in her neighbor's driveway. After Jon leaves, Kathy gives her neighbor, Keisha, a call to see how things are going. In their mostly white neighborhood, Keisha was a rarity, a single black woman with a son that Kathy knew. She learns that Keisha's son is back from college due to it being shutdown and she's invited over to catch up.

He's much more different than Kathy last remembers seeing him, growing to be a giant, muscular, statuesque man. Keisha is called to work abruptly and soon, Kathy is left alone with Andre.
